Saint Peter High School students in Mrs. Bunkowske’s culinary arts classes have been working on earning their ServSafe Food Handlers Certification this past semester. ServSafe is administered by the National Restaurant Association.
(SHOWN ABOVE) The two classes of Mrs. Bunkowske’s culinary arts students at Saint Peter High School who passed the ServSafe Food Handlers Certification test recently.
“Students trained online and completed five modules: Food Safety Is Important, Good Personal Hygiene, Controlling Time and Temperature, Preventing Cross-Contamination, and Cleaning and Sanitizing,” Mrs. Bunkowse said. “Then they took an online test and all of our students earned a passing score!
“I am very proud of them and the work they put into this training and our culinary class. Having this certification gives students who want to work in the food industry an advantage over those without certification and could earn them a pay raise too. We are going to move toward having all of our culinary students take this course in the future.”
