SPHS culinary arts equipment grant

Saint Peter High School recently was awarded a Future Ready CTE (Career and Technical Education) grant to purchase new Kitchen Aid equipment for the culinary arts lab.

Courtney Shoemaker, SPHS Family and Consumer Science (FACS) instructor, applied for the grant and the school was awarded $3,993.73 which was used to purchase stand mixers (with pasta and meat grinder attachments), food processors, hand mixers, and immersion blenders for use in the classroom.

Future Ready CTE is organized through the South Central Service Cooperative sub-grant program. SCSC’s approach to supporting its member districts through career-connected learning strategies and public-private partnership sub-grants. 

This initiative supports participating districts with workforce development coordination services to act as a liaison between schools and businesses. Innovation sub-grants allow districts to partner with local businesses to create unique opportunities in career and technical education.
