NAPAC Shoe Game

Join the Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC) for a Winter Celebration on Wednesday, December 14th at the Saint Peter Middle School.  Participants will learn about the Shoe Game, a cultural tradition from the Navajo Southwest Native American tribe.  The Shoe Game, Keshjee', is centuries old and is a story within the game. This sacred Navajo ceremony tells and shows the story of how the cycle of day and night came to be. This tradition teaches teamwork, good sportsmanship, problem solving and strengthens communal bonds between players.

Organizer Charmayne Klah says, “The Shoe game is more than a story, it is a Navajo teaching tool for everyone of all ages and different backgrounds willing to learn or observe the Navajo ways and to value Native American cultural experience and promote positive experience among all."

The free event is open to the community and will be held in the Middle School Media Center from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.  For More Information or questions please contact Charmayne Klah at cklah@stpeterschools.org
