Several students from Saint Peter Middle School competed in the Minnesota State History Day Contest held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday, April 20.

Highlighting the event for the SPMS students was the group of Alayna Lyons, Iris Sharstrom, Lauren Christenson, and Madelyn Rolfing earning a fourth-place finish in the Junior Group Exhibit for their Title IX presentation. Abrienne Syverson along with Isabela and Linda Torres earned honorable mention status.
“These students went far and above a school project and researched their topic for months,” Dustin Sharstrom, SPMS social studies teacher and History Day organizer, said. “Students researched primary sources and even conducted interviews.”
